de Bono's White Thinking Hat
(Howl at the Moon)
Print out and distribute a Plot Profile sheet for students to follow as a viewing focus for the Raven Tales episode Howl at the Moon. The students should view the episode with de Bono's White Thinking Hat in mind. (ie. They should track only the plot events in the episode).
Note: It is important that the teacher reinforces the concept of 'Wearing a White Hat'. Students should be looking strictly for plot information and events from the story, not concerning themselves with the emotions of the characters etc.

Reminder: It is important to stop throughout the video and give students (A/B partners) opportunity to talk or respond to the video.
Once the video is complete, student partner groups report out to the class. Teacher records important plot elements from the story on the board.
Using their Graphic Organizer as a writing guide, students re-write the story of Howl at the Moon in their own words. Students can re-write the story in a number of formats which include:
- Journal write or narrative story
- TV or radio episode script format
- Drama presentation
- Graphic story with text
